He welcomed the guests and attendees and emphasized the importance of such programs for recovered addicts. He urged and encouraged the participants of this term to take advantage of the available opportunities and resources.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs once again has facilitated the vocational training for 800 recovered individuals from drug addictions in five different vocations, such as tailoring, shoemaking, bag making, building electricity, and house electric appliance repair. The duration of this program will be four and a half months. Today, we are all present and witness the official inauguration of this program, the Deputy Minister of Labor Affairs, Alhaj Mohammad Zahid Ahmadzai added in his speech.

He added that this initiative is not exclusive or limited to Kabul; similar programs are currently underway in several other provinces. From commencing until now, more than 6000 recovered individuals have taken benefit from this program. Now they are productive members of our society, running their businesses and financially supporting their families.

At the end, Mufti Abdul Haq Mati, Director of Drug and Demand Reduction at the Ministry of Interior Affairs (MoIA), mentioned in his remarks that the reduction of drug addiction, prevention of drug trafficking, collection and treatment of addicted people throughout the country, and providing vocational training to recovered individuals are crucial components in the fight against the narcotics.
