The Acting Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, His Excellency Alhaj Mullah Abdul Manan Omari, participated in and delivered a speech at the ceremony to rename and transfer ownership and management of MTN to ATOMA, the new investors and shareholders.

In his speech, Mullah Abdul Manan Omari expressed hope that ATOMA will further strengthen and expand its relationship with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan under its new executive management. He emphasized the importance of establishing a strong foundation to protect the rights of workers and employees in the telecommunications sector. He also highlighted the need for quality coverage and internet services across the country. We should take steps in the field of technology following international standards, pay attention to the customers’ demands, and the expansion of these services to the most remote villages and rural areas of the country, Mullah Omari added.

Miraculously, the current situation in the country paves the way for the expansion of legal services and activities across the country. The lives, dignities, honors, and properties of all investors are fully protected. We encourage the youths to remain patient, and the IEA is striving to provide new opportunities. We strongly urge the travel agencies to refrain from sending Afghans abroad on tourists’ visas, Mullah Omari said.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs is committed to facilitating the legal process of Afghan Workers, ensuring they have access to better employment opportunities abroad, a secure and safe environment. Illegal Immigration overseas paves the way to offer them insufficient wages, low-quality jobs, and face other legal and residential challenges, Mullah Omari further added.

Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs is committed to reducing unemployment in the country, creating job opportunities for the youth in different sectors, and striving to provide legal deployment of skilled Afghan workers to abroad, His Excellency added.

At the end, he highlighted the challenges in the private sector. The private sector is not exempt from these issues. Therefore, the Ministry calls on all networks, factories, and other institutions to protect laborers' rights and provide a safe and secure environment, fair wages, overtime compensation, and other related provisions. Alongside employing foreign professionals in the telecom sector, training Afghan professionals, and creating job opportunities for them it will reduce service costs in your sector.
