The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Alhaj Mullah Abdul Manan Omari, held a regular meeting with representatives of private employment companies at his office. At the beginning of the meeting the representatives of private employment companies briefed the minister of labor and social affairs on their activities, key challenges, and the need for greater support and improved facilities to strengthen their work.

The purpose of this meeting is to reduce the unemployment rate in the country, create job opportunities within the country, and prevent the illegal transfer of Afghan laborers to foreign labor-receiving countries. Efforts have already been made to establish a legal process for sending Afghan workers abroad. The ministry is striving to find ways to address the problems that Afghan workers faced in those countries and also prevent the trafficking of Afghan workers to those countries. The minister of labor and social affairs, Alhaj Mullah Abdul Manan Omari, added these remarks during the meeting with the representatives of private employment companies.

Mawlawi Omari called on travel agencies to refrain from obtaining work visas for Afghan workers under the pretext of tourism. He said this would help prevent the exploitation and transfer of cheap labor and pave the way for the legal, dignified, and beneficial deployment of Afghan workers.

Haji Noorullah Fadawi, head of the Association of Private Employment Companies, thanked the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan for its cooperation and called for additional facilities to support their activities.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister urged representatives of employment and travel companies to coordinate directly with private-sector counterparts in labor receiving countries to facilitate the legal recruitment and transfer of Afghan workers and expedite the process.
