The Deputy Minister of Labor Affairs Meets with the Deputy Minister for Counter Narcotics
The Deputy Minister of Labor Affairs, Alhaj Mawlavi Mohammad Zahid Ahmadzai, met with Alhaj Sheikh Mohammad Qasim Khalid, the Deputy Minister for Counter-Narcotics at the Ministry of Interior.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the drug addicts’ problems, their health issues, and social issues and the provision of opportunities for vocational and technical training.
In five zones of the country, facilities have been provided for vocational and technical training for individuals recovered from addictions. In the future, similar opportunities will be extended to the remaining zones and provinces. The IEA is to provide job opportunities for unemployed youths in order to protect them from the threat of drug addiction. Alhaj Mawlavi Mohammad Zahid Ahmadzai, the Deputy Minister of Labor Affairs, added these remarks at the beginning of the meeting.
At the end of the meeting, the Deputy Minister for Counter-Narcotics praised the efforts of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in reintegrating recovered individuals into society and providing them with vocational and technical training opportunities. He also assured that, through coordination between the two ministries, further facilities will be created to support this process. Alhaj Sheikh Mohammad Qasim Khalid emphasized that such initiatives will support recovered individuals in reintegrating into society as accountable and contributing members.
